{"id":85,"date":"2011-03-10T07:11:56","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T07:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/calamariqueen.wordpress.com\/?p=85"},"modified":"2011-03-10T07:11:56","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T07:11:56","slug":"sweet-potato-fries-with-basil-salt-and-garlic-mayo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calamariqueen.com\/?p=85","title":{"rendered":"Sweet Potato fries with Basil salt and garlic mayo!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Growing up in the Philippines we ate a lot of sweet potatoes because my Dad liked it a lot (He prefers steamed potatoes) and it&#8217;s also popular as an afternoon snack together with &#8220;bananaque&#8221; (deep fried banana). \u00a0I only had it deep fried with lots of brown sugar or steamed\/boiled, either way it&#8217;s delicious! \u00a0So when I watched my fave show on the food network, Giada at Home, and she prepared this simple dish I knew I had to try this. \u00a0So simple yet so good! \u00a0My husband loves it too coz I heard him saying, &#8220;I can have this everyday!&#8221; \u00a0The mayo garlic sauce is just perfect with these fries! \u00a0You can check the recipe here: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/giada-de-laurentiis\/sweet-potato-fries-with-basil-salt-and-garlic-mayonnaise-recipe\/index.html\">Giada&#8217;s Recipe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>5 sweet\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/potato\/index.html\">potatoes<\/a>, cut into about 1 by 5-inch &#8220;fries&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/salt\/index.html\">kosher salt<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>1 clove garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/lemon\/index.html\">lemon<\/a> juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.Place the sweet potato &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/fries\/index.html\">fries<\/a>&#8221; on a foil-lined baking sheet and toss with the olive oil. Bake until golden, about 45 minutes.Meanwhile combine the basil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. In another small bowl combine the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/mayonnaise\/index.html\">mayonnaise<\/a>, garlic, and lemon juice, and stir to combine.When the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/sweet-potato\/index.html\">sweet potato<\/a> fries come out of the oven, sprinkle with the basil salt.
