{"id":1155,"date":"2011-06-17T05:52:31","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T05:52:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/calamariqueen.wordpress.com\/?p=816"},"modified":"2011-06-17T05:52:31","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T05:52:31","slug":"pork-adobo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calamariqueen.com\/?p=1155","title":{"rendered":"Pork Adobo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pork Adobo has got to be the most popular dish in PI. \u00a0My sister, Cynthia, makes the yummiest adobo if you&#8217;re gonna ask me (I&#8217;m not that biased you know!). \u00a0Anyways, I got the pork belly in the Asian market and I know they&#8217;re just perfect for adobo. \u00a0I got the recipe from the food network. \u00a0I fried the pork belly first because that&#8217;s how I want my adobo done. \u00a0I pan fried, braised, fried it again! If you check food network it&#8217;s &#8220;Filipino chicken adobo&#8221; and instead of chicken I used pork belly.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4-5 lbs.\u00a0\u00a0pork belly<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup white\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/vinegar\/index.html\">vinegar<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/soy-sauce\/index.html\">soy sauce<\/a><\/li>\n<li>4 cloves\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/garlic\/index.html\">garlic<\/a>, crushed<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. black peppercorns<\/li>\n<li>3 bay leaves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Cover and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/marinate\/index.html\">marinate<\/a>\u00a0pork for 1-3 hours. Bring to boil, then lower heat. Cover and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover and simmer until sauce is reduced and thickened, and pork is tender, about 20 more minutes.
